Empowering Maternal Health through Health Expertise
The Challenge
The issue at hand was undeniably critical: maternal health disparities, disproportionately affecting Black and Latinx communities. I was ready to leverage my writing prowess and health expertise to make a tangible impact.
The Solution
Research Excellence: My journey began with a deep exploration of maternal health and infant mortality, with a specific focus on Black and Latina mothers.
Strategic Insights: To boost my influence, I carefully dissected successful U.S. maternal health campaigns, unlocking the keys to engaging and persuading audiences effectively.
Engaging Content: The highlight of my project was a powerful 6-panel brochure emphasizing the importance of prenatal care while addressing disparities faced by Black and Latina mothers.
User-Focused: Understanding the significance of user experience, I conducted usability testing through focus groups. This iterative process allowed me to fine-tune the artifact, ensuring it resonated with its intended audience.
My passion is to be an advocate for change, armed with the skills and dedication to transform complex medical information into compelling narratives that drive positive action.
